Dessa AI Download: Weights and Local Requirements
Check Dessa AI download availability, official weights and license status, Mac guidance, and what remains unverified for local use.
Is a Dessa AI download available?
We have not verified a public installer, model-weight package or official source repository in Block's release material checked on 25 October 2026. Block says Dessa can run locally on a MacBook Pro M4 Max or better. That hardware statement does not, by itself, make a download available.
Before planning a Dessa AI download, establish two things: an authentic release you can obtain, and support for your intended device and use. Buying a compatible-looking computer solves neither the release nor the permission question.
What would a Dessa AI download contain?

These releases should not share one blanket “available” label. A community interface can exist before an official Dessa AI download does. Conversely, published weights can require substantial setup before they become a usable conversation app.
Is the model open source?
No open-source release or model distribution license was verified in the checked official material. Do not infer licensing from a demonstration, a research invitation or the fact that the model can run on a laptop.
For a future Dessa AI download, read the license attached to the exact artifact. Source-code terms and model-weight terms can differ. Running a copy privately, modifying it, distributing it and offering a paid hosted service are separate uses. Where should I look for official Dessa AI download links?
Use links from Block's Dessa page or an authenticated publisher announcement. We have not confirmed an official Dessa repository or Hugging Face model package from the checked release page. A repository's name alone is weak evidence: it may be a fan project, a wrapper or an unrelated model.
Before running a claimed Dessa AI download, check who published it, which version it contains, whether the model card and license are present, and whether the linked code and weights belong together. An installer that claims access without a verifiable publisher link deserves further checking.
Will it run on my Mac?
Block's published statement names MacBook Pro M4 Max or better. The checked page does not provide a supported-chip matrix, minimum unified memory, disk requirement or macOS version. We therefore cannot confirm M4, M4 Pro, older Apple Silicon, or every newer chip from that phrase alone. Source: Block.
Check your Mac's chip and memory in About This Mac, but keep those details as inputs for a future requirement check. They do not establish compatibility with a Dessa AI download. Wait for an actual release specification before buying hardware.
Dessa AI download requirements for Windows and Linux
The checked official page does not establish a Windows or Linux release. A model running on one Mac configuration does not demonstrate support for CUDA, a Windows installer or a Linux deployment. A supported runtime and its dependencies must be published or independently verified first.
How much memory would it need?
No minimum memory figure was verified. The training hardware mentioned by Block is not the inference requirement: training a model and running an already-trained model are different workloads. Do not convert a training-system specification into a consumer GPU recommendation.
A useful Dessa AI download requirement must name the model version, precision or quantization, context length and runtime. Without those conditions, a single RAM number can be misleading.
Would a Dessa AI download work completely offline?
Not automatically. A local model may still need an initial download, account checks, updates or remote services around it. The checked material does not establish a fully offline product or its telemetry behavior. Those details belong to a specific released application or deployment.
