Editorial Policy: Sources, Testing and Corrections

Read the editorial policy for Dessa AI Guide: primary sources, evidence labels, dated changes and corrections handled by chaozicoder.

Editorial policy for checkable answers

This editorial policy is maintained by chaozicoder. Its purpose is to make a useful answer easy to check. The guide explains what a source supports, why it matters to your decision and what remains uncertain. It does not treat a popular claim as a confirmed fact just because many websites repeat it.

For model capabilities and availability, we start with the publisher's release page, documentation, model cards, repositories and terms. For a comparison, we read the relevant sources for both products. Independent research can add evidence; community reports can reveal questions to investigate. Neither is silently substituted for an official release or a reproducible test.

Four kinds of evidence

Label or wordingWhat it means
Publisher statementThe developer describes a capability, result or requirement; we attribute it rather than claiming to have verified it ourselves
Official demonstrationA recording or example selected by the publisher; useful for observing that example, not for measuring general reliability
Independent or site testA test with a named method, version and conditions; a claim applies only as broadly as the evidence supports
Not confirmedThe checked sources do not resolve the question; absence is described within the scope and date of the check

This release is based on public-source research. We have not independently run the Dessa model. The demo guide separates official clip markers and transcript-based observations from an independent listening test. Under this editorial policy, reading a transcript does not justify a claim that we listened to, measured or tested a model.

How the editorial policy handles dates

An announcement, a research invitation, a public app, an API and a weights release are different events. We track them separately. A new video does not turn the access page into “available now,” and publication of code does not automatically establish a commercial model license.

Pages show when their information was checked or materially updated. The updates page describes meaningful changes and links to their sources. We do not change every date simply to make the site appear fresh. If a source is unavailable, that is a failed check—not proof that a product has been withdrawn.

Editorial policy for comparisons

Recommendations are tied to a task, such as voice conversation, local experimentation or app development. We explain the tradeoff rather than giving an unsupported overall score. A short recording is not enough to declare the most realistic, fastest, safest or cheapest model.

If prices are compared, the units and included services must be comparable. If performance is compared, the model versions and conditions must be stated. An unknown field does not count as a competitor's failure.

Independence and commercial relationships

This is an independent guide, not a Block publication. Official links are labeled so that visitors can tell when they are leaving this site. A future service offered here will be distinguished from the model publisher's own products.

Any paid placement or affiliate relationship that affects a recommendation must be disclosed alongside it. It cannot be presented as an independent test result. We do not invent customer reviews, usage totals or endorsements.

How to send corrections

Send corrections to support@dessaai.org.

When reporting an error, include the page address, the exact statement, a primary source that contradicts it and the date the source changed. This helps distinguish a factual mistake from a release that happened after the last check.

Material corrections should identify what changed and why, with the affected guide updated as well as the change record. For access decisions or an application to the Dessa research program, contact Block through its official page; this guide cannot make those decisions.
